Countdown to I Do – the business of wedding websites, invites and counting heads
Have I mentioned how much I hate admin? Have I? Okay well if you don’t know me you won’t know this but I hate admin. Every year around Christmas I buy myself a new notebook to make notes in, lists, budgets etc and this lasts about 3 days. I’ve got finance apps on my phone for budgets, things like Wunderlist for organization, none of it works. So when it came to planning a wedding, I think my brain vomited a little. Weddings are not events to be planned in my usual laissez-faire style. Okay that’s not the way to describe it. I plan, a lot, far in advance but I store it all in my brain. My brain is good at storing things, it’s probably the feature I like the most. The wrinkles are great, but the storage is what really sells it for me. However, not a wedding. Weddings can not be planned in the brain. Weddings require checklists, they require budgets, they require some way of keeping track. My first thought was a spreadsheet, but I’m lazy so I bought a book (I’ll tell you about that later on) and realized that might work for budgets, but no way am I updating a spreadsheet every time my guests RSVP. My luck I’ll forget. Okay, so what now?
That’s when I discovered www.FForever.net.
Once the glow had worn off, and all the (fake) champers and cake had been consumed, we realized that we had to get planning, and invites are obviously the most important. FForever makes it SO easy! It handles everything from the invites, to the RSVP counts, and of course, you can upload beautiful photos. It has entirely taken the stress out of the invite process. Wait, I don’t have to manually count who is coming? What sorcery is this? The personalized website is also gorgeous. You can upload photos, write a blurb and give info on the venue, and it’s all paperless! Who doesn’t love not having to make use of SAPO? It’s still in beta, so they’re adding features constantly, and ironing out bugs as needed, but the support staff are friendly and helpful when reporting niggles.
If you’re getting married sometime soon, I can really recommend this site. I’ve ploughed through a lot in the last 2 months, and none have impressed me quite as much as FForever.
I will definitely be blogging more about my wedding experience, and I’d really love for you to join me. You can read all the posts from this series here
